Overview
Maam is a social and community platform operated by Nuup Ltd. Maam is intended exclusively for people aged 18 and over. Persons under 18 are not permitted to create an account or use Maam.
Although Maam is an adults-only service, users may share information or content relating to their children and families. Protecting children is therefore a fundamental part of our safety standards.
Maam has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Prohibited Content and Conduct
Maam strictly prohibits any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers a child, including:
- creating, uploading, storing, sharing, requesting or distributing CSAM;
- sexualising a child in text, images, video, audio, links or other content;
- grooming, enticing or attempting to establish contact with a child for sexual purposes;
- soliciting sexual images, videos or other exploitative material involving a child;
- sextortion, sexual trafficking or other sexual exploitation of a child;
- encouraging, facilitating or providing instructions for child abuse or exploitation; and
- any other conduct that places a child at risk of sexual abuse or exploitation.
These rules apply whether the content depicts a real child, purports to depict a child, or otherwise constitutes prohibited material under applicable law.
Reporting
Users can report concerning content, messages or accounts using the Report tools available within Maam.
You can also report child-safety concerns directly to our designated Child Safety Contact:
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or law-enforcement authority immediately.
Enforcement
When Maam becomes aware of content or behaviour that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation, we will promptly investigate and take appropriate action.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- removing or disabling access to content;
- restricting, suspending or permanently terminating accounts;
- preserving information required for investigation or legal compliance; and
- reporting matters to appropriate child-protection or law-enforcement authorities.
Where we become aware of confirmed CSAM, we will take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law, including reporting it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate regional child-protection or law-enforcement authority where applicable.
Cooperation with Authorities
Nuup Ltd complies with applicable child-safety laws and cooperates with competent law-enforcement agencies and recognised child-protection authorities where legally required or appropriate.
